Cognigenics
Cognigenics was co-founded by John Mee and Dr. Dean Radin following two decades of research into the relationship between consciousness and brain activity. Inspired by Radin’s theories of non-local consciousness and bimodal causation, Mee studied neuronal electromagnetic activity and developed the hypothesis that reducing neuronal excitability could expand awareness, improve cognition, and reduce stress. Mee and Radin began collaborating in 2013 to translate this concept into a new field of cognitive neuroengineering.
Success
Beginning in 2016, Mee investigated genetic methods for modifying neuronal electrical properties and optimizing brainwave activity, filing the first patents in 2018. They later patented methods for dynamically delivering gene therapies to targeted brain regions and added Dr. Barry Linder as a third co-founder. Cognigenics subsequently assembled an experienced leadership team, raised angel and venture funding, and completed preclinical studies supporting the use of targeted genetic regulation of neuronal activity to treat mental-health conditions and enhance cognition. The research is proceeding towards human clinical trials.
